THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE

The Conference will take place in Alghero, Sardinia, Italy from June 22 to June 27, 2020. The main theme of the conference is GLOBAL TOURISM: CONNECTING INSULARITIES IN ASIA AND EUROPE”. Organized by the University of Sassari, the EATSA 2020 Conference offers a worldwide forum for attendees from academia, industry, government, and other organisations to actively exchange, share, and challenge the state-of-the-art research and case studies on travel, tourism, hospitality and recreation. The Annual Conference of EATSA is the premier conference focused on understanding the current state of research in Asia and Europe, with special focus on comparative international studies.

The conference also features world class keynote speakers such as Dr. Tamara Rátz and Dr. T.C. Chang.

      it is a dialogue space to share new ideas and increase collaboration and the exchanges between members
    • PhD and Masters Symposium
      it is a safe workshop space for post-graduate students to get the best outcomes in their studies
    • EU Projects Session
      it is to discuss funding opportunities for new innovative and collaborative projects
    • National Session of EATSA in Italian
      the aim is to encourage and promote local scholarly participation that results in a special issue with the papers in Italian.

The aim of the Open Access Journal, is to help promote junior researchers to publish their work. We have elected a board of Early Career Researchers whom will be supported and mentored by senior academics. All papers will be Double-Blind Peer Reviewed. However, during the reviewing process, other advisory members of our editorial boards, will provide support to help potential author, to overcome some of their publishing challenges. The inaugural issue of the journal is scheduled for June 2020. However, if an author is unsuccessful at the first review process for the inaugural issue, she/he can take advantage of the editorial board support provided at the Round Table Discussion.

Our aim is to assist a new generation of researchers in tourism to realise their publication potentials.

ABOUT EATSA

The EATSA – Euro-Asia Tourism Studies Association is committed to the best practices in Tourism and Hospitality research. This is, to ensure high standards of international cooperation, with the aim to bolster the scientific knowledge in Tourism and Hospitality research.

The members of EATSA should agree to conduct their research, according to the same standards of research integrity, while respecting the laws and sovereignty of the States of all participating parties. In funded international projects, the promotion of good practice and the handling of any potential cases of misconduct, as recommended by the coordinating committee of the OECD Global Science Forum, should be followed.

The EATSA aims to:

  • Promote research and education in the field of tourism, hospitality and recreation in Asia and Europe, with special focus on the comparative international studies.
  • Promote the dialogue among scholars of all scientific disciplines engaged in the tourism studies, in order to move from the current multi-disciplinary approach to a more integrated and trans-disciplinary approach.
  • Foster closer connections between tourism academia and tourism industry
  • Encourage the exchange of research results, practical experience, and ideas by organising conferences, meetings and developing research networks among members and institutions.
  • Promote a more intensive cooperation between European and Asian scholars in the fields of Tourism, Hospitality and Recreation.
  • Disseminate research results through various channels.
