Dr. Madhuri Sawant is Director, International Centre for Buddhist Tourism, Assistant Professor, Coordinator Research & Consultancy in Department of Tourism Administration, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad, India, Executive Secretary of EATSA. Expert Member on the Government of India’s University Grants Commission and 18 Universities in India.
A Masters in Tourism Administration she is the First UGC NET-JRF and First Woman PhD in Tourism in the state of Maharashtra, India.
She also holds PG Diplomas in Business Management, German Language and Environmental Studies.
Her principle research interests are Marketing, CSR, Socio-Economic Aspects and Heritage Tourism Management and has completed 05 Major Research Projects sponsored by University Grants Commission, Indian Council for Social Science Research and Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Science and Technology Government of India
A frequent traveler for academic and Research Assignments, she has visited various Universities in, Portugal, Japan, France, UAE, Thailand, Chile and South Korea.
As a Research Supervisor, she is guiding Doctoral Research Fellows from United Kingdom, Japan, Thailand, Kenya, Yemen on Health tourism, Creative tourism, Corporate Social Responsibility, Human Resources in tourism, Internet Marketing, Destination Branding, Film Tourism, and Crime & Tourism
A prominent Resource Person for Keynotes & Valedictories Dr Sawant has 40 publications including 06 books and 29 referred journal articles and has designed over 24 courses / programs in Tourism and Hospitality Management and have organized Four International and 07 National Seminars /Conferences /Workshops.
